Hello, and welcome to our new website! Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Cerebella Design. The last year has been full of finding curious biological specimens, photographing the most interesting slides, developing colorful patterns with unique textures, prototyping exciting products, and learning a whole lot along the way. After many long hours in class, lab, and studio settings, our first batch of patterns are ready for all of you to enjoy!

This blog is an extension of our mission to share science education through art in an approachable, stylish, and sustainable way. It will serve as a place to tie art and science together through images, current events, interviews, and whimsies. It will also be a place to find updates about the work we are doing, and how you can get involved. However, before diving into the infinite surface design abyss, a few words of thanks are in order...

Today's launch would not be possible without the help of many wise, supportive, and optimistic people. A special thanks to my Mom + Dad, Josh Faber, Jake Faber, and Shane Scranton for providing brimming buckets full of honesty, encouragement, impromptu design crits, and 3 am technical assistance. Thank you to a wonderful network of extended family and friends that have sent positive vibes from across the country and the world over the course of the year; you inspire me everyday.

I am very appreciative of the conversations shared with many thoughtful and dedicated mentors, without whom Cerebella Design would not exist. Thank you to those affiliated with the following departments, institutions, and organizations: Middlebury College, specifically the Departments of Biology, Neuroscience, History of Art + Architecture, the Health Professions Office, Community Engagement, and the Center for Social Entrepreneurship; Rhode Island School of Design (specifically CE and the Nature Lab), Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies, Newark Academy, and TBJ.

Last but certainly not least, a warm thanks goes out to those who supported my MiddStart fundraising campaign this summer, and provided me with the financial means to get production off the ground.

Here's to a great start!
